Q: Do I have to join?
A: No. You will be able to search for your Skating Friends but you will not be able to send or receive messages from them until you join.
Q: What are the advantages of joining?
A: You will be able to send and receive messages to and from your friends. Over the coming months we will be adding new features which you will be able to use as part of your membership.
Q: How long does my registration last?
A: 12 Months, at which time you can renew or cancel your membership.
Q: What is the cost of registering?
A: At the moment it is free to join and membership lasts for 12 months! If you wish to rejoin after that time the cost will be £6.00 (UK Pounds).
Q: Which currencies can I use to pay for my membership?
A: You can use € Euros, £ Uk Pounds and $ US Dollars.
Q: Why do I have to give my name address when I join?
A: We decided that we wanted Skating Friends to be as safe as possible. Recording genuine addresses will reduce potential abuse of the various services that are, and will be available on the site. Members not using their correct addresses will have their activity monitored and may have their accounts withdrawn.
Please be assured that your address will not be used by or passed to a third party.
Q: What happens when I send a message to one of my friends?
A: Your message is stored on the Skating Friends web site for your friend to collect. They are then sent an e-mail to notify them that you have left a message.
Q: When I send someone a message, can they see my e-mail address?
A: Yes. However, your e-mail address is NOT visible to them on the Skating Friends web site.
When they read your message they can click on the "Send Me Mail" button. The e-mail is then sent to their registered e-mail address.
From there they can send you an e-mail and you can communicate without using the Skating Friends web site.
Q: What should I do if someone I don't want to communicate with sends me a message?
A: Simply don't reply to their message. If you don't reply they will NOT get your e-mail address.
Q: What should I do if I get a message from someone, and their email address is wrong or I can't see it.
A: We consider this a serious breach our our rules, the person sending you the message can have their account withdrawn. Contact us at abuse@skating-friends.com.
